Hi David,

I have upgraded both 2.17 and 2.18, but it still doesn't work, I might go and do the upgrades again manually and try it again. Unless you can think of something else?

Hi David...

I mentioned earlier that the Paid Site configuration worked,  I had tried to give a 100% discount Coupon and Paypal wouldn't let me make the purchase as it needs a figure greater than ZERO to proceed.

How do you get around this?

I want to have a Free Membership and then upgrades within the site.

Hi David,

Bingo! I changed the settings from FREE to PAID membership and it works again... however, how does this affect the Free Membership sign up... is that still available, or do I need to Charge a nominal fee and give the recipient a Coupon Code to get in Free?

Regards the Update I eagerly await your reply... I can't figure why it didn't take, as I followed the instructions Verbatim.

Thanks again for your help... you are truly a excellent site owner! The support and backup you give is 5 Star!  :)

Hi David,

Well that brings me to the second question....

I had installed the original version 2.16 in September, but I have upgraded the file - as per the instructions to 2.17 and then 2.18 I checked to make sure all the files were uploaded and followed all the protocols but the Home page in the Admin panel still tell me I am running 2.16. (as per below)
Admin Main Control Panel
You are currently running SMP Version 2.16.

I don't know why the Version hasn't updated on the Home page Admin panel.

I hope that this information helps?

I seem to have a small problem with Paid Product when the user clicks on the PAYPAL button on the sales page (, it forwards to a page ( which is only giving me the option to sign up for a free Membership. (as seen below)
              Membership Form
Fill out the form below to sign up for your free membership.

It doesn't have an option on the page for members to forward straight to PayPal payment page.

It did work at one stage but I have just been notified that it is now causing problems.

Does anyone know how to change this?

Hi David,

I just read the bonus offer, but can't find where to download it from? Could you let me know please?

Just to update you my membership site has started to grow. I have been sick with the dreaded flu which developed into a Lung infection for the past 6 weeks or more but I have now recovered and am ready to hit the market again in a big way.

I can't thank you enough for your support with the set up of the first site and hope to have more running soon.

Hi David,

Sounds Great... can't wait to see the Videos and new instruction materials...

If you have a copy of the OTO and Downsell script to beta test I would be happy to give it a go... whenever you are ready to release it.

Thank you for the Good Luck Wishes... Just making some major changes to the OTO and then full steam ahead...

Hi David,

After getting my Membership site up and running... I am almost ready to launch, but I agree with some of the earlier posts.

We need a Step by Step manual, in plain English.

With all the possible scenarios such as - Site Coming Soon... Launch Day... Squeeze Page OTO etc.

With regard to OTO's - I am not sure how you would back end the OTO with a up sell or down sell, it doesn't seem possible, which means there is a lot of money being left on the table.

Could you let us know if this is something that I haven't figured out yet? and if not, could we have some precise outline of how to do it please?

I found that the installing of the script and setting up was the easy part... it is the getting the membership site to work that I have had some difficulty with ... There doesn't seem to be a guide as to what happens when a member signs up "Flow Chart" if you had a flow chart or blueprint of how the system works its way through from landing on the site to finalizing a download after the sale. It would be Much appreciated... (and maybe the same for the Giveaway sites)

I have to thank you for all your help while getting the script up and running.... Thank you David, you have been most helpful!

Love the software!

Great help!

Simple Member Pro / Admin Login - Timing

Hi.. I wonder if anyone has the same issues with the Login for Admin or Member as I do and if so, did you find a solution?

When I am editing or creating a product... Because I do all my html in Dreamweaver I don't seem to get enough time to input or edit the Product before the timer... locks me out. It seems I will be half way through a task and I have to logon again, which can be fairly annoying... as you have to go through - Login, and menu options etc.

Is there a way to change the timing on login so that the program stays open longer? (and is this possible for the Members area as well?)

Hi David,

I have used both these formats to test it out and neither responds to more than a 404

And the code used as follows:
        <p align="left"><span style="font-family: Arial;">DOWNLOAD FILE NAME</span></p></td>
      <td width="75" align="middle"><span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 255);"><a href="" target="_blank">Download</a></span></td>

Hi David,

This is so frustrating....

I have been able to make normal download links work, without going through the go/downloads but, that sort of defeats the purpose of the security doesn't it.

Regards  :) Magreth

Hi David,

I have tried that.... still no joy?

I created a download folder "above site root" (When you say above the site root, you do mean the root of the hosting account don't you?)

I set it in admin to "above site root" and entered  /home/content/username/downloadfoldername
and then tried /home/content/username/public_html/downloadfoldername

Hi David, I just saw your reply, and I have the version 2.16, go is named go.php

I will try to sort out the rest of your message and get back to you in a short while...

Thanks  ::)
