Announcements / Re: SimpleMemberPro Update coming soon...
« on: March 23, 2014, 08:43:15 PM »
David, sorry for completely disappearing on you. I ended up with my computer hard drive totally crashing and with the problems with my wife's recovery we decided to just stay offline for a while. I just recently started getting back online other than short periods of time to post on facebook now and then.

I still don't have much time but my wife's last surgery is in a few days and with any luck I should be able to devote some time each day to getting back into things.

Simple Member Pro / Re: Installed Demo but Internal Server Error

Try just deleting the htaccess file completely. If you still get the error then it is probably a problem with your hosts server settings.

The only option I see is this.

If you are providing the gifts yourself and not the jv partners then you can use the custom content pages. Set up a custom content page and put the gift information on it, then set the access level so only the people who bought your subscription product can access it. Then you can put a link to that page anywhere you want, and only the subscribed members can view the page.

If the gifts are coming from the JV's then there is no way that I know of to accomplish what your after. I wrote the script and all the code in it and have tested every feature every which way I could think of, but it's been a year since I really dug into the script so there may be a way that I am missing, but I don't think so.

Someone may have a work around, but you are trying to do things the script is not designed to do.

The three membership types, free, paid, and giveaway are designed so you can choose one of them as the main focus of your site. The script wasn't designed to allow all three at once. The site design you are trying to achieve is not a part of the scripts purpose or coding.

JV gifts are either on or off. This is site wide regardless of which membership type you choose.

The entire purpose of the JV Gifts is to allow all members access. The JV gift function is a scaled down verison of the full giveaway scripts. The purpose of this is to allow your JV's to give away products in exchange for the members email address.

You might want to research jv giveaways and see what they do, and how they are set up. This will give you a better understanding of the features in the JV Gifts portion of SMP.

There is no built in function in SMP that will only allow specific member types to have access to the gifts. If a gift is set up then all members can see it. That is the point of the feature and how it was designed.

if ($membership_type == $allow_gifts) <--- this says if jv's are allowed to submit a gift run the following code
      $q = "select count(*) as cnt from ".$prefix."gifts where user_id='$memberid'"; <---- this counts to see if the user has submitted a gift already
      $r = $db->get_a_line($q);
      $getit   = $r[cnt];
      if($getit ==0) < -- this says if user has 0 gifts then run the code below.. means the jv can add a gift
         $addgift ='<a href = "gifts1.php">Add Gift</a>';
   elseif ($membership_type != $allow_gifts) <---- This says jv's are not allowed to submit a gift so run the following code
      $addgift ='We are not currently accepting JV Gift Contributions.';

The code above seems like it would control how many gifts can be submitted, but that section of code is just a small part of the process. There are multiple sections of code that handle the giveaway options and they all have to sync up perfectly for everything to work right.

Although it looks like you should just change that number and be able to get more gifts there is way more to it than that. In order to make the script accept multiple gifts you are going to have to rewrite a LOT of code.

There is no way to have more than one gift per JV. SMP is not coded to allow it. As I said before that is what Simple Giveaway Pro was created for.

The giveaway features in SMP are base level features only. If you want anything more than a stripped down core basic giveaway then you must use a dedicated script designed specifically for running giveaways.

The multipe gift per JV options are very complex and are far more than what SMP is designed to handle.

If you have your site set as free then all outside payment buttons will redirect to the free signup. If you want outside products to be purchased by new members then you have to set your site as paid.

I believe, if I remember correctly, that SMP allows for only one gift per JV. SMP only has basic giveaway features.

If you need the more advanced features like multiple gifts per JV partner then you need the Simple Giveaway Pro script.

You have to use link formatting in your page to create a live link.

In the page html source code you need to have
Code: [Select]
<a href="">Click to download</a>

change the http:// part to your actual file path that you need.

It will always be free. If you use the 100% coupon you don't go to PayPal at all so you never pay.

Simple Member Pro / Re: Aweber integration
« on: May 25, 2010, 03:52:44 PM »
Responder Name = a random name you give that instance of the responder setup so that the script can track it. This is used by the drop down lists throughout the admin area to choose which autoresponder list to add members to for a particular signup process. This can not have any spaces.

Aweber Unit = the name you gave your list inside of Aweber.

Meta Web Form ID = the id number that aweber gives each form generated. This is a string of numbers.

Two ways to approach this.

The first way is to hard code the css directly into the page as you work.

The second way is to use an outside css and include it with the page. This can be done by either creating a new style sheet or adding to the ones that are already there. If you create a new one you just need to edit the header.html file and add the line of code that includes the style sheet. Then it can be used for any of your pages that include the header. That html file will already have the code that includes the main.css and style.css so you can see exactly how to include your new style sheet just by looking at those that are already there.

The actual page body background is hard coded into the header.html file. The very end of that file is an opening <td> statement which is closed with </td> at the beginning of the footer.html file. If you want a site wide background you can edit that opening <td> at the end of the header.html file and add your style sheet there.

If your talking about the main page background.. thats handled inside the admin panel. In the settings in the admin panel you can customize the header and footer images as well as the background image or color.

Simple Member Pro / Re: Product purchase not being registered
« on: May 22, 2010, 09:51:21 PM »
The product is shown as pending and set for product review. That is why its not being recorded.

The script only records transactions that actually clear paypal. Make sure you have product review turned off in your paypal account and make sure you have accept echeck turned off. The script does not have any options for delayed payments such as product reviewed payments and echecks.
