In the next few days I will be releasing SMP v3.05. This new version includes integration with the Amazon S3 system and sort and search features on several pages as well as a few minor fixes.

Look out for the announcement here.

You would just need to rename the new image paypal_buynow.gif and upload to the images directory over the existing one.

Hi Matt

Aplogies for the delay. I was away for the weekend and the internet was only working for 5 minutes at a time where I was based.

The standard member and JV member upgrades are two different things and the OTO is for standard members to upgrade.

JV Partners can upgrade and/or purchase more points from within the JV Partner area and at present there is no option to present a better offer as an OTO. If you wish to upgrade certain JV partners manually then using PHP MyAdmin etc you can edit the table "members" for the person concerned and change the field "jvupgrade" to "1" and add an extra 100 points (or however many you wish). This will then enable JV Partners to add text and banners ads using their points and these will be shown in rotation.

Hi David,

Just a quick one ... is there an option ot swap the paypal button shown on the OTO for a bigger image?

Thought I saw it mentioned soemwhere but can't find it now?

Also hoping you have some suggestions on my previous post re a OTO to upgrade for contributors???

I've got a few starting to sign up, a lot are first timers, so I don't think I'll get any upgrades unless I push it at them on sign up?

Hi David,

Other giveaways I've signed up for, I've been offered an upgrade as a OTO on first login.

I would have liked to do that as well, but I can't see how?

If I add the JV Upgrade as the OTO, the JV partners see it, but their accounts don't get upgraded?

I'm thinking JV OTOs aren't an option on this platform, unless you can tell  me how to upgrade JVs manually?

Can I just add extra points to their account i nthe database or do other fields need to be updated as well?

Thanks in advance,

I had a similar problem (apostrophes) with SimpleMemberPro but it was only on certain versions of PHP/MySQL. I can't remember whether it was fixed or not using the "addslashes" function - pretty sure it was so I will check the code and see if I can apply to SGP as well.

Good to see you've implemented an anti spam system, agree it's a real pain. Until a week or so ago I had locked this forum to admin registration but whilst it locked the spammers out most genuine users were deterred by having to raise a support ticket for access. Hopefully I'll find a happy medium eventually.

Hi David,

Anything like SMF forums are particularly vulnerable ... open source software so the idiots get to experiment on how best to mess with them! I've pretty much given up on one we tried to use for our websites after removing a few thousand russion addresses & even more bogus posts. Next incarnation it will be Members Only, invite only, no publicly accessible sign up form.

Anyway, I've added an extra page to the SGP JV signup with a simple challenge question and that's stopped them for now. I guess I'll add a captcha later if required ... and repeat the process when we open for Members.

With the apostrophes ... not a problem on most of the forms, so I thought maybe there's  just a line or two of handling missing from some of the form handlers?

Hi David,

Yes ... I assumed the JV signups would be shown the upgrade offer when they joined, but they were getting the Members OTO insteads. My JV contributors and my members are two distinct groups so that doesn't really work.

So for now I'm not showing them any offer ... which isn't ideal ... no chance to push the upgrade?

It's been a while, but I thought I remembered being shown an OTO on the upgrade offer when I'd signed  up for these events in the past?

I do think I can work something out if you can tell me how to 'upgrade' a JV contributor manually?

Is it just a matter of adding some points in the database, or are there other changes required to keep things running smoothly?

Hmmn. I've a had people with this error before on the latest PHP 5 versions.

Would it be possible to set your server to PHP4? (Some hosts allow you to specify version).

On my main site I run it on PHP 4 without problem.
