Simple Member Pro / When upgrading do I FTP the files using Binary, Text or Auto

Hi,

Presently I'm running version 2.18 and am about to upgrade to
ver 3.0 and then 3.01, 3.02, 3.03, 3.04

When upgrading do I FTP the files using Binary mode, Text mode or Auto?

And, is there anything else I should know before I make all the upgrades
to the latest version?
