I'm confused about the protected download link

i am confused about the protected download link.

Protected Download Links :
http://yoursite.com/go/downloads/filetodownload.zip

what actually goes here?

is yoursite.com replaced with the complete path to the /go file?

I'm not able to get the download file.  I have tried every combination I can think of but it is still not working for me.  I am missing something, but I'm lost here. 

The requested URL /go/xxxxxxxxxx/xxxxxxx.zip was not found on this server. 

My host is blue host & I corrected the htaccess file as recommended with no noticeable effect.

Replace yoursite.com with the url to where you install SMP.

If your site is named something.com and you put SMP in a folder named smp then you would put http://something.com/smp/go/downloads/filetodownload.zip and replace filetodownload.zip with the name of the zip file.
